Verisense Pulse+

The Verisense Pulse+ is the first line extension for the Verisense wearable sensing platform. Verisense Pulse+ provides raw photoplethysmogram (PPG), galvanic skin response (GSR), and an inertial measurement unit (IMU). This means the entire platform can now measure clinical trial participants’ heart rate, and emotional responses in addition to their activity and sleep levels.

  • Activity metrics: Time spent in idle, light, moderate, or vigorous activity

  • Sleep metrics: Total time in bed and sleep efficiency

  • Pulse+ output: Accelerometer, GSR, PPG

The PPG sensor monitors heart rate by using light absorption to measure changes in participant capillary blood volume. Whereas the GSR sensor measures changes in sweat gland activity, which can be used to assess the participant’s level of psychological and emotional arousal, stress and other emotional responses. GSR is used for psychology clinical research and biofeedback and it is starting to be employed in more clinical applications, including epilepsy.

Verisense offers all the raw participant data that can be used with peer reviewed algorithms (GGIR) to identify disease specific end-points.

  • Large data sets from the raw data can be used to develop a database and ascertain novel endpoints for a wide variety of diseases and disorders

  • Real time study management allows for immediate response to issues that arise, resulting in overall time reduction and cost savings

  • Flexible service options gives sponsors better control over the scope of their trial - measure only what you need
