Verisense IMU - Activity and Sleep

Front and Side Verisense IMU.jpg

The Verisense Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) is the base sensor for the Verisense platform. The Verisense IMU allows for the remote capture of raw accelerometer and gyroscope data, as well as the capture of activity and sleep metrics of trial participants.

  • Activity metrics: Time spent in idle, light, moderate, or vigorous activity

  • Sleep metrics: Total time in bed and sleep efficiency

  • Non-wear detection: Total time the sensor is not worn

Verisense’s wrist-based activity and sleep algorithms are validated by more than 300 peer-reviewed papers using the open-sourced package GGIR.

The sensor is designed to minimize data loss and has a configurable sampling rate; this allows for continuous wear, boasting 44 days of on-board storage. Data is automatically uploaded to the cloud via Bluetooth and the Verisense Base Station and can be placed in any location on the body to unlock a variety of metrics that require raw accelerometer or gyroscope data.

Verisense offers all the raw participant data that can be used with peer reviewed algorithms (GGIR) to identify disease specific end-points.

  • Large data sets from the raw data can be used to develop a database and ascertain novel endpoints for a wide variety of diseases and disorders

  • Real time study management allows for immediate response to issues that arise, resulting in overall time reduction and cost savings

  • Flexible service options gives sponsors better control over the scope of their trial - measure only what you need
