Our Mission
To accelerate the adoption of digital health technologies to make meaningful improvements in healthcare. We will do this by incorporating ground-truth data from many studies into a single integrated framework that will become the ground-truth dataset for the industry, allowing seamless collaboration and data sharing.
Verisense Digital Health Panel (DHP)
Ground-Truth, Digital Health Dataset
The Verisense Digital Health Panel (DHP) is an IRB-approved study that collects digital health data from its participants on an ongoing basis. Electronic Patient Reported Outcomes (ePRO) are also collected, and Real-World Data (RWD) are accessible through tokenization. The data collection process is highly efficient because of automation and a participant management partner that is already at scale.
Utilizing the DHP to integrate wearable technology into a study significantly decreases the cost to sponsors of research because of the efficiency provided by Verisense’s digital health data collection infrastructure. Once a study protocol has been agreed upon and Verisense amends its IRB to add the sponsor’s study to the DHP, Verisense handles everything from there. This includes participant recruitment (if needed), logistics, support, compliance monitoring and quality checking the data. Once the study has been completed, sponsors only pay for the data that they receive.
The data that are collected using the DHP infrastructure are warehoused permanently to create a Digital Biobank. The Digital Biobank is a repository of raw sensor data with associated Patient Reported Outcomes and Real-World Data, including medical records, claims data, pharmacy data, etc. This means that as algoritms and analytics improve, data across different disease types and populations can be re-used.
Digital Biobank
Verisense Health is building a Digital Biobank to provide the data to identify and validate digital biomarkers. The Digital Biobank is a repository of raw sensor data with associated patient reported outcomes and tokens to enable access to real world data, including medical records, claims data, pharmacy data, etc. on an anonymous basis. The Digital Biobank is being seeded with data collected by Verisense Health, both from internally sponsored studies and from external sponsors who are leveraging Verisense Health’s highly efficient infrastructure. The Digital Health Panel combines decentralized trial approaches with existing infrastructure and RWD.
Verisense Health sits at the center of this infrastructure with it’s custom built data collection and study management platform integrating data from a variety of partners:

22 Locations
400k existing panel members
300+ diseases
Hundreds of projects per year

The Platform
How it works
The Verisense sensor records the trial participants’ data onto an in-built flash memory card within the sensor. The data collected on the sensor will be uploaded to the cloud (AWS) once daily through the base station. The base station is the participants’ phone that has the Verisense app downloaded onto it. The data is uploaded via a password-protected and encrypted Bluetooth connection.
The data that has been uploaded to the cloud is accessible through the Verisense web interface. The web interface allows access to all the raw data, as well as any processed data using peer-reviewed algorithms (GGIR) for activity and sleep metrics. All data from the participants’ is anonymized and only identifiable through participant and sensors ID’s that are assigned at the beginning of the study.
3rd Party Device Integration
Verisense Health will work with any digital health technology provider that is committed to providing raw data. The use of raw data makes the Digital Biobank device agnostic in that any device using the same type of sensors (e.g., accelerometers) can utilize analysis algorithms developed with these data. In addition, Verisense Health will work with any device manufacturer to incorporate their data into the Digital Biobank.
Examples of technologies that might be added to a study:
Motion and/or Biophysical sensors
